Easter calls to mind two very important questions of our time: why the egg, and why the bunny? Naturally there is a long and interesting history here. The egg is an ancient symbol and is most typically associated with fertility. Early Christians adopted the egg as a symbol of Christ—the hard shell was indicative of Christ in his tomb, and once opened, the resurrection. Often the egg would be dyed red to symbolize the blood of Christ shed at his crucifixion. In the United States, the idea of an egg-giving hare was first introduced by Protestant German immigrants in the eighteenth century. Back then only good children would receive as gifts colored eggs in “nests” that they made in their caps and bonnets before Easter. And as for the evolution of the chocolate bunny…I’m not exactly sure, other than to say we must surely be glad of this marvel!

I think this holiday would be a good time for you to, and I beg forgiveness for this expression in advance, breathe new life into your home, both inside and outside. We can make every room in your house sparkle, from cleaning countertops to scouring floors to removing stains in the upholstery and carpets.

It turns out that Easter is the second best-selling candy holiday in America, after Halloween. So once we’re through with your home go ahead and open up that box of Peeps—you deserve it!
