TERMS OF SERVICE


At A Votre Service! we aim to give professional, personal, and dependable service. We feel strongly that reliability and attention to detail are important parts of our duties. Everyone on our team understands our goals and takes pride in the care they give our clientele. In order to maintain our highly trained and trustworthy staff we need to implement the following policies:

 

Payment:  Invoice(s) are due upon receipt. We require a credit card number to keep on file.  We automatically charge the credit card unless you specify that you prefer to pay by check.  If payment is not received within 30 days, we reserve the right to charge the credit card and/or disrupt service.  A 50% deposit is required for special services $1000 and above (daily housekeeping, renovation clean-up, move-in/out, spring cleaning, etc.). Materials for handyman service must be paid in advance by check only.  For basic house cleaning service, our minimum per cleaning is for 4 hours per lady or, the minimum time estimated to service the home depending on size, amount of laundry, overall condition, etc. Rates and hourly restrictions apply for Montauk, the North Fork, Amagansett, Napeague and Lower Spring area in East Hampton, and west of Hamptons Bays. Call office for inquiries.  Please note that we do not service Shelter Island. For office cleaning, our minimum is for 3 hours per lady.

Outstanding Balances:  Finance charges may be applied to outstanding balances of 30 days or more.  Attorney and legal fees will be applicable for any unpaid charges that are brought before the court.

Schedule Change: We can only make a schedule change with enough sufficient notice within the same week if we have availability, otherwise the charge for scheduled service will apply.  Any changes to schedule must be requested through the main office, not through the cleaning lady. For one-time special services such as construction clean-up or move-in, we understand that extenuating circumstances may arise which would prevent the service to be done on the scheduled day.  Re-scheduling the service will be contingent upon availability. 

Cancellations: In order to maintain the reliability of our service, the schedules are prepared in advance and therefore we are not able to accept cancellations on regularly scheduled cleanings days. If service is cancelled the charge for scheduled service will apply.  Deposits on one-time special services such as construction clean-up, move-in, etc. which cannot be rescheduled, will be refunded less a $100 administration fee. Deposits on scheduled daily housekeeping service are non-refundable. Once confirmed by both parties, a 2-week notice is required to cancel daily housekeeping service, otherwise charges will apply.  All matters regarding schedules must be addressed through the main office, not the cleaning lady.

Termination of Service:  Service (excluding daily housekeeping) can be permanently cancelled by written notice with a minimum of 3 business days prior to the scheduled service.   If less time is given for the termination a regular cleaning fee will apply.  A Votre Service! reserves the right to terminate service due to improper treatment of the staff or unacceptable working conditions.

Year-Round Service: We strive to give personal service, however, we can only secure the same lady (s) if you remain on a consistent year-round schedule.  During the off season you can reduce the schedule to every two, three or four weeks.

Summer Scheduling: Due to the high demand from May through September, basic cleaning service can only be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.  If you request a specific day it must remain consistent.  Any other request is considered “on demand” and is always contingent on availability. 

Final Cleaning: Due to the high demand, final cleanings must be scheduled well in advance.  It is important to know that the owners expect the house to be returned in the same condition it was given and that usually a final cleaning can take more time than a regular basic one. 

Instructions: It is up to you, as the client, to send us any special instructions when it comes to the care of your home. We need to know from you if something requires special care, if a certain product needs to be used or not used, if someone in the home has allergies or is sensitive to a certain product.    Any special instructions that need to be communicated to the lady(s) must be emailed to the office at least 2 business days before the scheduled cleaning.  If we do not receive them early enough, we may be not able to deliver the instructions on time.

Premise Accessibility: It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that our staff has safe access to the house (key/alarm code/snow and ice removal, etc.).  Charge for scheduled services will apply if the staff is unable to enter the premises.

Alarms: Alarms can go off for various reasons.  It is the client’s responsibility to call the security company and make them aware that they have a cleaning service, to give them the number to our office, to give us a security code as well as the alarm company phone number so that all parties can be contacted in the event that the alarm should go off.  A Votre Service! will not be made responsible for any charges or fees incurred as a result of the alarm going off inadvertently. 

Administration Fee:  The administration fee will apply for any administrative duties outside of business hours.  For example, instructions sent late, no accessibility for various reasons, any unexpected situation that requires coordination between staff and client.

Inclement Weather: If service cannot be rendered when scheduled due to bad weather, for the safety of our staff, your service will be re-scheduled as early as possible.  

Supplies and Errand Fee: Cleanings supplies are to be provided by the client.   $65 per hr. fee is applied for shopping or any miscellaneous errand on clients’ behalf.

Disclaimer:  Our staff takes great pride in their work and treats your home and property with the utmost care. Regrettably, and although not common, accidents happen.  A Votre Service! will not be held liable for damages.

Staff Contact Information:    In order to avoid misunderstandings, it is not permitted for the cleaning staff to communicate by phone, text or email directly with our clients.  Please do not ask the ladies for their contact information.

Non-Solicitation:  Any service request must go through A Votre Service! home office. You will agree not to hire any of our staff to work outside of A Votre Service.

Our aim is to provide you with the ultimate service. Should you have any questions or concerns, please notify us right away so that we can serve you better.
